experimental music and collective experience.

Rooted in the sonic traditions of Southwest Asia and North Africa,
HANJALA explores the intersection of heritage and futurism. Where maqam,
rhythm, poetry and ritual are reimagined through electronic, ambient, club, and live
performance formats.

The name HANJALA (حنجلة) evokes movement: to dance, sway, jump
This fluidity reflects the spirit of the project itself: open, evolving, and in constant motion.

Initiated by RAqS, HANJALA extends an ongoing commitment to amplifying contemporary and
underground SWANA sounds through connecting local and international artists, building bridges between
scenes, generations, and sonic languages.
